TIPS: The particle size and density of aerogel powder can be adjusted. For applications that use aerogel powder for direct filling (such as honeycomb panels, air molded interlayers), it is recommended to use low-density aerogel powder (tapped density <60KG/m ); for applications as coating fillers, it is recommended to use high-density aerogel powder (tapped density less than 110KG/m );

How to choose aerogel powders with different particle sizes and densities?

For coating applications, such as 0.1mm thick membranes and topcoats, when selecting aerogel powders, try to use small particle size powders to ensure the flatness of the membrane surface and reduce the defect rate. Large particle size powders are generally used in coatings with a dry film thickness greater than 1mm. For filling applications, try to use small density powders, and there is no requirement for particle size. For other applications, if the customer has special requirements for the hydrophobicity and particle size of the powder, please contact the company’s technical department.

Can aerogel powder be used directly?

Yes, aerogel powder can be filled alone or mixed. If you have any questions during the use of powder, please contact the company’s technical department.

How environmentally friendly is the powder? Does it contain any harmful substances?

The main components of aerogel powder are silicon dioxide and more than 90% air. It is chlorine-free, non-toxic and pollution-free. The backfill can be carried out according to the national standards for glass.

What is the additive ratio for water-based thermal insulation coating?

The maximum addition ratio of aerogel powder in the coating can reach 30%. At the same addition ratio, the performance is far better than other insulation materials.

What is the difference between aerogel and silica?

Structural difference: The specific surface area of aerogel is more than 4 times that of fumed silica, and the density of aerogel is less than 1/10 of that of silica.
